Photographer but especially traveler-- Pierre Casanova's quest has taken him slowly but surely from the world of journalism to that of art. In India, in the United States, but also in Paris, he haunts the urban nights looking for his favorite motifs: wall fragments, towers, trees, chimneys everything that humans raise in the sky in their quest for the absolute. Solitude and absence of artifice characterize his profoundly introspective art. The instinctive and spontaneous practices of paring down have brought the wandering artist from one photographic "accident" to another until he found his good vibration and what he calls his writing, his language. In sleepless nights, he dematerializes what seems so solid and gives back the part of fragility to all things.
