Internationally renowned for his work in advertising and based in Los Angeles, Chris Anthony is a master of constructing scenes. >From portraits of international stars to emerging models, each and every one is caught up and transformed in his imaginative universe into dreamlike apparitions, which he skilfully brings to life in the confines of his studio or on location. Sometimes Gothic, sometimes New Age, he makes use of modern icons to draw his spectators into a realm of fantasy, representing a collaboration of motifs form classical art to the next millennia. This approach allows Anthony to explore contemporary issues such as global warming and violence. In 2007 he received the prestigious Grand Prize in American Photo’s Images of the Year Competition for his series “Victims and Avengers”. He has also exhibited in Los Angeles, Stockholm, Washington D.C., London, Bath and San Francisco and had work published in numerous publications including the Los Angeles Times, Photo District News, American Photo, Zoom, Corrierra della Serra and LA Weekly.
