“It is the sensation of light that dominates my photographs... I’m looking for sensations that are in harmony with myself. The absence of time is the thread that links these photos together.” Jean-Michel Berts has worked as a photographer for over twenty years. Four years ago in Venice he began a new series focusing on towns and cities, extending his own technique in black and white. In line with the great photographers of cityscapes like Karl Hugo Schmölz, his images are dissolved to reveal all the subtleties and richness of space. An imagination that knows no limits, in combination with his dedication to detail, his images lend a unique dimension to the world, in the style of Tim Burton, without ever leaving reality.
