“Gathered together, we celebrate and revel in our collective sensuality, but at the same time we reject and are even repulsed by the effects of such covetousness.” Lynn Bianchi is exploring a personal project about the female nude. The ambiance is carved out with care, the etchings inspired by Classical antiquity. This young New Yorker enjoys mixing genres, bodies and tastes, the deciduous and the domestic; she positions her models dining, reaching between cups of tea and plates of spaghetti, trailing flowers between their fingers, or even ironing. Ironic and full of curves and twists, her “photographic tableaus” with their orgiastic allure, question our physical consciousness and social expectations, on the subject of weight and beauty.
