A multitude of perceptions inspired by people, places and things, Andy Taylor-Smith uses these raw materials which surround him, to create still-life compositions, keen to highlight the out of the ordinary. Andy Taylor-Smith does not hesitate in recreating his mental images into photographic print; no subject is taboo; a plastic bag carried away by the wind, the arch of a motorway apposed on a tempestuous background. To accompany him on his adventure he chooses light as his principal ally, allowing the latter to draw the contours and reveal the moments of beauty in the midst of the banal; accentuating the areas of light and shade, he teases out the essence within.
