Barend van Herpe is both photographer and teacher at the Fotoakademie in Amsterdam. Annemarie is involved in elements of art, fashion and performance which serve as a continual source if inspiration. Together they conceptualise portraits and images of holidays as if they were destined for canvas. For them, composition and concept are the essential ingredients of a photograph. Bodies, faces, objects and landscapes are the subjects of their aesthetic study, which aims to express within a framework of cultural or moral reflections, both origin, roots and context.
