Influenced by her cinematic work, Aline Ahond’s photographic works remain firmly anchored in the realms of the imaginary. Her compositions are singular in their effect of consistently projecting a certain luminescent transparency onto her subjects or the invented scenes that she is depicting. “I take photos of all sorts of things, of the things that surround me, I then photograph them onto transparencies, before cutting them up and juxtaposing them on glass sheets, I then place them on a light box and retake the photo, in 6x6 definition.” From reality, Aline Ahond creates a fantastical and enticing universe; poetic and personal, her works have the freshness and imagination akin to that of a children’s book.
