Along the banks of the Mississippi River merging in with their surroundings, these frail duck blinds are barely visible to the untrained eye. Destined once to shelter hunters, soon be erased in place of other forms of shelter, Dave Jordano, touched by this silent army, pays his respects in the production of a series of portraits. Captured in silhouette, each duck blind has its own unique character, the image defined and taken face-on; his images explore the soul of each one.
