Far away from the chaos of war, in the core of an untouched rocky landscape, Grégoire Eloy explores a country misunderstood and its forgotten inhabitants. A smile from beneath a turban, wind stirring the women’s veils, looks open in their honesty and pride marked on the lines of their faces: the devotion of the photographer to his subjects is apparent in the perfect simplicity of his shots and the time dedicated for each image to exist. A break from the classic rectangular format of reportage, to square formatting; Eloy is able to convey another side of Afghanistan. An ensemble of photographs taken with the same sensitivity and open to all inspiration.
