A tragic story, magnificently brought to life by these unconventional images of nature and its creatures; black and white, grainy, fluid, a mix of profiles and unusual lighting. The photographer applies to her subjects the same artistic techniques as she would for human portraits, bringing to each animal a sense of dignity often mocked.
