The deserted outskirts of Amsterdam. The undefined landscapes covered in coal. The iridescent light. The rusted cranes stand still. Silent. An yet… Like a scene from the theatre the factory floor is lit up by spotlights. The set welcomes on stage great steel monsters, which seem almost to move in the darkened shadows. Like a sculptor, Simon Warner breathes life into these motionless metal contortions engaged in a strange and almost silent ballet.
