The French photographer Constant Famin created a series of works between 1860-1870 observing the scenes of rural life and life on the farm with all the animals. These « studies of nature » were brought to the attention of painters who drew inspiration for their work from these photographs. A version of this photograph can be found in the collections of the Musée d’Orsay in` Paris.
